An Inconvenient Truth - Al Gore

A brilliant present solution for anyone who you know is environmentally aware and wants more hard facts about global warming or more importantly! for those sceptical friends and family who are not willing to face up to the crisis that is facing planet earth.

Written by Al Gore who ran for U.S. presidency in 2000 and served as vice president for the United States for eight years. Here he writes passionately and presents information on the major issues and arguments involved with the climate crises we currently face. The book is a classic "coffee table" book that can be easily read, contains stunning, powerful and at times, rather disturbing pictures. It is packed full of colourful imaginative diagrams and graphs that highlight the scientific facts and figures so that even the most "techno phobic" readers amongst us (like myself) can easily understand the
warning signs that are becoming apparent and is already effecting so many millions of lives today.

Throughout the book, Gore includes stories about his childhood memories, political life and major events in his personal life that gives rise to an understanding about where his passion and commitment comes from.

Finally he concludes with an up-beat chapter outlining a range of practical changes that we can all make on a day to day basis which left me personally, not feeling powerless and overwhelmed but realising that by taking responsibility for ourselves, we CAN make a difference.

Now a major motion picture documenting much of the same information as the book and shows us coverage of the many talks and lectures Gore gives on global warming. Released on DVD in the UK on 26th December and is being shown at selected cinemas so keep your eye open in your local area as it is well worth watching. Book price £18.99 but can be found for around £8- 10 pounds on-line.

Thanks Annie
